2024 Chablis Coteaux de Fontenay – 16.5 Crisp, fresh, classic Chablis feel to this. Plenty of freshening acidity but no trace of excess/bitterness. Not the heaviest or most concentrated but shows a great salty, pebbly style which adds to the typicality. Pretty GV in the context of 2024 burgundy. (AWH) 2024 Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent - 17 + Has all the extra complexity expected from this prime premier cru site. Feels and tastes like a grand cru with an extra layer (or two) of concentration and power. Aged for 15 months on lees which has added a lot of extra interest. Great example. GV (AWH) 2024 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Vieilles Vignes – 17 + Has a pronounced confit-lemon aroma. A little closed at the moment, there is plenty of potential after a few years’ ageing. Ripeness of the Bougros site comes through but there is plenty of fresh acidity to keep the palate in check. (AWH) 2024 Chablis Grand Cru Preuses - 17.5 ++ All the components are here, present and correct. Has concentration, ripeness (but no overblown fruit weight), purity, crisp acidity and a saline, pebbly finish. Long on the palate. A fine Preuses which has great potential. Could be enjoyed quite young but best to let the wine blossom. GV (AWH)
